When to Say

Tashlich is traditionally performed on the first afternoon of Rosh Hashanah, beside a body of water (preferably with fish). If Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat, it is done on the second day.

This ceremony symbolically casts our sins into the water, representing spiritual cleansing and renewal. It is based on the verse 'You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.'
