Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day 2026

Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Day is observed on the 12th of Cheshvan, the Hebrew date of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's assassination in 1995. It was established by the Knesset in 2005 as a national memorial day to remember Rabin's legacy and his pursuit of peace.

The main memorial ceremony takes place at Rabin's gravesite on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Schools hold educational programs about democracy, tolerance, and the dangers of political violence. A state ceremony is held at the site of the assassination in Tel Aviv, which is now Rabin Square.
