הקונה מגוי כלי סעודה העשויים ממתכת או זכוכית, חייבת להטבילם במקוה או במעיין המכילים ארבעים סאה ויתבול כל הכלי בבת אחת
לפני הטבילה יברך
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה, אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו וְצִוָּנוּ עַל טְבִילַת כֵּלִים: על כלי אחד אומר כְּלִי
Tevillat Kelim is performed when acquiring new metal or glass utensils used for food. The immersion should be done before first use of the utensils.
Immersing utensils in a mikvah elevates them from ordinary objects to vessels used for holy purposes—eating as a Jew. It represents the sanctification of everyday life.
