לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינֹת מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד:
For the conductor, with stringed instruments, a maskil of David.
בְּבוֹא הַזִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְרוּ לְשָׁאוּל הֲלֹא דָוִד מִסְתַּתֵּר עִמָּנוּ:
When the Ziphites came and said to Saul, 'Is not David hiding among us?'
אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁמְךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ תְדִינֵנִי:
O God, save me by Your name, and judge me by Your might.
אֱלֹהִים שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה לְאִמְרֵי פִי:
O God, hear my prayer, listen to the words of my mouth.
כִּי זָרִים קָמוּ עָלַי וְעָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי לֹא שָׂמוּ אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגְדָּם סֶלָה:
For strangers have risen against me, and oppressors have sought my soul; they have not set God before them, Selah.
הִנֵּה אֱלֹהִים עֹזֵר לִי אֲדֹנָי בְּסֹמְכֵי נַפְשִׁי:
Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is among those who sustain my soul.
(ישוב) יָשִׁיב הָרַע לְשֹׁרְרָי בַּאֲמִתְּךָ הַצְמִיתֵם:
He will return the evil to my enemies; in Your truth, destroy them.
בִּנְדָבָה אֶזְבְּחָה לָּךְ אוֹדֶה שִּׁמְךָ יְהוָה כִּי טוֹב:
With a freewill offering, I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
כִּי מִכָּל צָרָה הִצִּילָנִי וּבְאֹיְבַי רָאֲתָה עֵינִי:
For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has seen [the downfall of] my enemies.
