Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who with His word brings on the evenings; with wisdom He opens gates, and with understanding He changes times and alternates the seasons; and He arranges the stars in their watches in the firmament according to His will; Creator of day and night, He rolls away light before darkness and darkness before light; and He causes the day to pass and brings on the night; and He separates between day and night; the Lord of hosts is His name; a living and enduring God, may He reign over us forever and ever; Blessed are You, Lord, who brings on the evenings:

When do you say Maariv?

Maariv is recited after nightfall, when three medium-sized stars are visible. It can be said throughout the night until dawn, though ideally before midnight.

What is Maariv?

The evening prayer is attributed to Jacob. It marks the transition into a new Jewish day and includes the evening Shema, connecting us to God as we prepare for rest.
