וַיּאמֶר דָּוִד אֶל גָּד, צַר לִי מְאד, נִפְּלָה נָּא בְיַד ה', כִּי רַבִּים רַחֲמָיו, וּבְיַד אָדָם אַל אֶפּלָה:
And David said to Gad, I am in great distress; let us fall, please, into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are many, but let me not fall into the hand of man:
רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן חָטָאתִי לְפָנֶיךָ. ה' מָלֵא רַחֲמִים. רַחֵם עָלַי וְקַבֵּל תַּחֲנוּנָי: ה' אַל בְּאַפְּךָ תוכִיחֵנִי. וְאַל בַּחֲמָתְךָ תְיַסְּרֵנִי: חָנֵּנִי ה'. כִּי אֻמְלַל אָנִי. רְפָאֵנִי ה'. כִּי נִבְהֲלוּ עֲצָמָי: וְנַפְשִׁי נִבְהֲלָה מְאד. וְאַתָּה ה' עַד מָתָי: שׁוּבָה ה'. חַלְּצָה נַפְשִׁי. הושִׁיעֵנִי לְמַעַן חַסְדֶּךָ: כִּי אֵין בַּמָּוֶת זִכְרֶךָ. בִּשְׁאול מִי יודֶה לָּךְ: יָגַעְתִּי בְאַנְחָתִי. אַשחֶה בְכָל לַיְלָה מִטָּתִי. בְּדִמְעָתִי עַרְשי אַמְסֶה: עָשְׁשָׁה מִכַּעַס עֵינִי. עָתְקָה בְּכָל צורְרָי: סוּרוּ מִמֶּנִּי כָּל פּעֲלֵי אָוֶן. כִּי שָׁמַע ה' קול בִּכְיִי: שָׁמַע ה' תְּחִנָּתִי. ה' תְּפִלָּתִי יִקָּח: יֵבשׁוּ וְיִבָּהֲלוּ מְאד כָּל איְבָי. יָשֻׁבוּ יֵבשׁוּ רָגַע:
Merciful and Gracious One, I have sinned before You; Lord, full of mercy, have mercy on me and accept my supplications; Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor discipline me in Your wrath; be gracious to me, Lord, for I am languishing; heal me, Lord, for my bones are dismayed; and my soul is greatly dismayed; and You, Lord, how long; return, Lord, deliver my soul; save me for the sake of Your kindness; for in death there is no remembrance of You; in Sheol, who will give thanks to You; I am weary with my groaning; every night I flood my bed; with my tears I drench my couch; my eye wastes away from grief; it grows weak because of all my foes; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping; the Lord has heard my supplication; the Lord will accept my prayer; may all my enemies be ashamed and greatly dismayed; may they turn back and be ashamed suddenly:
שׁומֵר יִשרָאֵל. שְׁמר שְׁאֵרִית יִשרָאֵל. וְאַל יאבַד יִשרָאֵל. הָאומְרִים שְׁמַע יִשרָאֵל:
שׁומֵר גּוי אֶחָד. שְׁמר שְׁאֵרִית עַם אֶחָד. וְאַל יאבַד גּוי אֶחָד. הַמְיַחֲדִים שִׁמְךָ ה' אֱלהֵינוּ ה' אֶחָד:
שׁומֵר גּוי קָדושׁ. שְׁמר שְׁאֵרִית עַם קָדושׁ. וְאַל יאבַד גּוי קָדושׁ. הַמְשַׁלְּשִׁים בְּשָׁלשׁ קְדֻשּׁות לְקָדושׁ:
Guardian of Israel, guard the remnant of Israel, and let not Israel perish, who say, Hear O Israel:
Guardian of one nation, guard the remnant of one nation, and let not one nation perish, who unify Your name, Lord our God, the Lord is One:
Guardian of a holy nation, guard the remnant of a holy nation, and let not a holy nation perish, who threefold repeat holiness to the Holy One:
מִתְרַצֶּה בְּרַחֲמִים וּמִתְפַּיֵּס בְּתַחֲנוּנִים. הִתְרַצֶּה וְהִתְפַּיֵּס לְדור עָנִי. כִּי אֵין עוזֵר: אָבִינוּ מַלְכֵּנוּ. חָנֵּנוּ וַעֲנֵנוּ. כִּי אֵין בָּנוּ מַעֲשים. עֲשה עִמָּנוּ צְדָקָה וָחֶסֶד וְהושִׁיעֵנוּ:
וַאֲנַחְנוּ לא נֵדַע מַה נַּעֲשה. כִּי עָלֶיךָ עֵינֵינוּ: זְכר רַחֲמֶיךָ ה' וַחֲסָדֶיךָ. כִּי מֵעולָם הֵמָּה: יְהִי חַסְדְּךָ ה' עָלֵינוּ. כַּאֲשֶׁר יִחַלְנוּ לָךְ: אַל תִּזְכָּר לָנוּ עֲונות רִאשׁונִים. מַהֵר יְקַדְּמוּנוּ רַחֲמֶיךָ. כִּי דַלּונוּ מְאד: חָנֵּנוּ ה' חָנֵּנוּ. כִּי רַב שבַעְנוּ בוּז:
בְּרגֶז רַחֵם תִּזְכּור. כִּי הוּא יָדַע יִצְרֵנוּ. זָכוּר כִּי עָפָר אֲנָחְנוּ: עָזְרֵנוּ אֱלהֵי יִשְׁעֵנוּ עַל דְּבַר כְּבוד שְׁמֶךָ. וְהַצִּילֵנוּ וְכַפֵּר עַל חַטּאתֵינוּ לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ:
He who is appeased with mercy and reconciled through supplications, be appeased and reconciled to a poor generation, for there is no helper; our Father, our King, be gracious to us and answer us, though we have no deeds; deal with us in righteousness and kindness and save us:
And we do not know what to do, for our eyes are upon You; remember Your mercies, Lord, and Your kindnesses, for they are from of old; may Your kindness, Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in You; do not remember our former iniquities; may Your mercies come quickly to us, for we are brought very low; be gracious to us, Lord, be gracious to us, for we are sated with contempt; in wrath, remember mercy; for He knows our frame, He remembers that we are dust; help us, God of our salvation, for the sake of the glory of Your name; and deliver us and atone for our sins for Your name’s sake:
יִתְגַּדַּל וְיִתְקַדַּשׁ גרסת הגר"א: יִתְגַּדֵּל וְיִתְקַדֵּשׁ שְׁמֵהּ רַבָּא. ועונים: אמן בְּעָלְמָא דִי בְרָא כִּרְעוּתֵהּ. וְיַמְלִיךְ מַלְכוּתֵהּ, בְּחַיֵיכוֹן וּבְיוֹמֵיכוֹן וּבְחַיֵי דְּכָל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל, בַּעֲגַלָא וּבִזְמַן קָרִיב וְאִמְרוּ אָמֵן:
הקהל עונה: אמן. יְהֵא שְׁמֵהּ רַבָּא מְבָרַךְ לְעָלַם וּלְעָלְמֵי עָלְמַיָא:

May His great name be magnified and sanctified (according to the Vilna Gaon’s version: May His great name be magnified and sanctified); and they respond: Amen; in the world that He created according to His will; and may He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and in your days, and in the lifetime of the entire house of Israel, speedily and soon, and say, Amen:
