In a whisper:

And it was evening and it was morning.

For the sake of the unification of the Holy Blessed One and His Shechina, with fear and love, I am prepared and ready to fulfill the positive commandment to sanctify [the day] over wine, as it is written, "Remember and keep," remember it over the wine:

The sixth day. And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their host:

And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it: because in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

Attention, honored and learned ones, and ladies and gentlemen:

Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and was pleased with us. And with love and favor, He gave us His holy Sabbath as a heritage, a remembrance of the creation. (For it is a day) preceding the holy convocations, a memorial of the exodus from Egypt. (For You chose us and sanctified us from all the nations,) and Your holy Sabbath, with love and favor, You have given us as a heritage.

Blessed are You, Lord, who sanctifies the Sabbath.

When do you say Kiddush?

Kiddush is recited on Friday night after returning from synagogue (or after candle lighting time) and again on Shabbat morning before the daytime meal. Holiday Kiddush is said at the start of festival meals.

What is Kiddush?

Kiddush sanctifies Shabbat and holidays, fulfilling the commandment to 'remember the Sabbath day.' It declares the holiness of the day over a cup of wine.
